OWO YOUTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY APPOINTS OLUWOLE ADEBIYI AS INTERIM COORDINATOR, CELEBRATE NIGERIA @61
The Owo Youth General Assembly ( TOYGA) Celebrate Nigeria @61, Appoints OLUWOLE ADEBIYI as INTERIM COORDINATOR.
The Owo Youth General Assembly has joined eminent Nigerians to celebrate the country’s 61st Independence Day anniversary.
The Spokesperson of the group, Awoyo Desmond, while speaking with our correspondent in the early hours of today, said "Nigeria can be a better society only when our small leadership circle is set to restructure the unstructured to structured."
This is an aspiration that is wholly based on the need to involve as many as possible intellectual youths in all areas of governance.
He said, we are Youths that are conscious of where we are, where we are going to and not forgetting where we are coming from.
In his congratulatory speech, he noted that The Owo Youth General Assembly congratulates Nigerians, particularly the good people of Owo, on the celebration of the country’s Independence Day. In his words “We are more than 6 decades, no doubt development is a gradual process and we are hopeful of a great and better nation.”
While we are celebrating we wish to inform the general public of our activities.
The constitution of The Owo General Assembly has been adopted by the General Assembly and the leadership will provide it online for everybody on the TOYGA website which is to be launched next week Friday.
Mr. Desmond Awoyo also informed the general public that the General Election will come up in the second week of December, 2021. Therefore, its imperative to have leadership in place for a period of 75 days.

In a unanimous decision by founding members, it has been concluded that an Abuja based Owo indigene, a staff of the National Assembly, and former National President of the Owo Students Union, Comrade Oluwole Adebiyi, should champion the course of leadership of the group as Interim Coordinator. Comrade Oluwole is a graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
Also, to foster a sense of inclusion, an Ipele man and Optometrist has been appointed as the secretary to the group, He is a former Speaker of OLGASU and former President of Ipele Student Association, Dr. Abu Temitope Johnson, while Desmond Awoyo remains the Spokeman of the Assembly.
The three-man team will pilot the affairs of the The Youth General Assembly for the next 75days and conduct free, fair and credible elections to fill the various offices.
Once again, we wish the country at large a fruitful celebration of our independence.
