LIFE: A RACE AND A MYSTERY (AINA OMOWUMI ADENODI)

Image
Life, a race and a mystery. Aina Omowumi adenodi  Dost thou love life?, then do not squander time, for that is the stuff life is made of. In a race, time counts so much, no matter how swift you are, if you cannot beat the time, it's of no relevance. Only those who can beat the time breaks record, which is also applicable to life generally, being early in life counts and being late also has it own count. We all are in the race, but few understands that there are prizes to be won in the race of life, your achievements, your success, your impact determines your placement and prizes in life. The mystery of life is so much attached to age and ageing, achievement is not by age, so many things that you can do now, why not do it?, it's not a must to attain a particular age to attain exploits, so many opportunities are wasted today because of age, your age does not really matter in attaining heights in life, your size, likewise does not matter.  Be challenged and motivate

A home or society that is bereft of men who can function in all of these capacities is plagued for failure.

Today is Fathers' Day. Ayobami Ogedengbe There are Three major aspects where we need to evaluate our fatherhood in our society. Our place in the Home as the teacher and chief instructor of our household, Our place in the society in administrative capacities to the highest point in governance being the presidency or king or queen or prime minister or supreme leader (depending on the system of government) and in spiritual leadership. A home or society that is bereft of men who can function in all of these capacities is plagued for failure. Until men rise and lead first, their homes; they can't administer properly and they can't minister properly. A Father must be able to build his home with the requisite knowledge for godly behaviours. The Father must be the first teacher and actor of the principles of integrity, honesty, faith, love, diligence, orderliness and purpose. He must show his family care, model sacrifice and model service. When children pick this fr

IKUBESE: AKURE GRASSROOTS INTERACTIVE MEETING REPORT BY ADEOLUTAYO

Dr. Thomas Wilson-Ikubese It was a great moment at Sckye Hospital car park on 5th June, 2018 as people came out in their numbers to attend the grassroot meeting organized by the presidential aspirant Dr. Thomas Wilson-Ikubese and the “yes we fit” movement. At about 5:30pm the meeting started with the opening prayer, followed by the Nigeria national anthem. The coordinator of “yes we fit” movement Ondo State chapter (Mr Ayobami Ogedengbe) gave the opening speech where he highlighted that a new Nigeria is possible, there can be 24 hours uninterrupted power supply, Education can be better. He advised everyone to rise up to the challenge to make Nigeria a better place and not allow themselves to be used by corrupt politicians because the five thousand naira you collect from them is all you will get for the next four years. He appreciated everyone in attendance. Dr. Thomas Wilson-Ikubese ( Presidential Aspirant 2019) while giving his spe

THANK YOU PRESIDENT BUHARI, BUT...

THANK YOU PRESIDENT BUHARI, BUT... By Thomas-Wilson Ikubese I wish to appreciate President Muhammadu Buhari for finally recognising June 12 as Nigeria's Democracy Day, after 25 long years of political dribblings by previous administrations. June 12 was indeed a watershed in the annals of our political history, like no other. It was the day Nigerians spoke in one voice, devoid of geography, tribe or religion.  The death of June 12, was the birth of a failing Nigeria! Now that President Buhari has reverted Nigeria's Democracy Day from May 29th to June 12th, I pray he allows the indices of "free and fair" that characterised the June 12 Presidential election to come into play in handling national issues, appointments and elections, especially in the coming 2019 Presidential election! Confering a posthumous GCFR Award on MKO  Abiola and GCON on Chief Gani Fawehinmi will amount to nothing if the principles for which they lived and died are not reflected in

NOT-TOO-YOUNG-TO-RUN ACT: PMB AND THE JOKE ON NIGERIAN YOUTHS.

NOT-TOO-YOUNG-TO-RUN ACT: PMB AND THE JOKE ON NIGERIAN YOUTHS. By Dr Thomas-Wilson Ikubese President Buhari just made history by signing the not-too-young-to-run bill into law, amidst cheers from Nigerian youths. The bill was passed by the National Assembly in 2017 to alter Sections 65, 106, 131, 177 of the constitution and it seeks to reduce the age qualification for president from 40 to 30; governor from 35 to 30; senator from 35 to 30; House of Representatives membership from 30 to 25 and State House of Assembly membership from 30 to 25. However, in the assented bill, the age qualification for governor and senate was retained at 35 years contrary to the demands of the Not Too Young To Run  Movement. While many youths are celebrating this feat, deep down within me, I'm not excited. The scenario is akin to moving a treasure from  the 3rd floor of a high-rise building to the 2nd floor, in a building  that has no staircase or ladder, claiming that one has empowered th
