HOPE FOR AKURE NORTH CONSTITUENCY

Ayobami Ogedengbe

LET ME GIVE YOU "A SLICE" OF MY POLICY STATEMENT FOR AKURE NORTH CONSTITUENCY.

FOCUS: Public Orientation and Security.

Election is close, deadline for PVC registration is 7 days, celebrities with huge followership on Facebook and Instagram are being paid by the FG to do PVC registration sensitization.

IssOkay.

When we get to office, sensitization exercise on election and other civic responsibilities will be going on all year round and not just during a season. Appropriate agencies such as INEC, NOA, SERVICOM and the likes will be empowered all year round to help our Public Orientation.

242 billion election expense due to high security and the massive inefficiency of our systems can be avoided.
That 242 billion naira if it is spread across 12 months, we would have been able to do a lot in one year than the few we are doing now.

No one is mobilizing INEC staffs into rural areas. In these rural areas, the citizens don't get to see Woli Agba or Frank Donga on Instagram.

Can we start getting it right?

SUPPORT AYOBAMI OGEDENGBE FOR AKURE NORTH CONSTITUENCY AS MEMBER OF HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY ONDO STATE.

Not to forget that I have once funded this PVC registration exercise for my constituency where several people have not registered for their voter's cards, even though the constituency presently has one member in the state House of Assembly who doesn't even visit the constituency - he's been AWOL to those who he is meant to be representing.

Also when some men came to murder some people in his constituency, he wasn't even on record to have said anything about it. The community heads in the said locality were summoned and advised by the Police DPO to contribute 10,000 Naira each (monthly) to help support police mobilization because they have only one van and hardly is there allocation for fuel.

IN A CONSTITUENCY WITH A REPRESENTATIVE IN THE STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY WHERE THE STATE BUDGET COMES TO BEFORE IT BECOMES APPROPRIATED?

Chineke me!

In Four Years, we can't buy 6 Tokunbo Hilux at 6 Million Naira each to Support the Police Force in our constituency?

A fuel Budget of 15,000 Naira Per Week for the 6 Hilux Vans nko? Impossible?

How about a 100,000 Naira for vehicle maintenance EVERY Three months?
That's unachievable?

How much is this multiplied by four years?

15 Thousand x 52 (weeks in a year) = 780,000 Naira x 4 (years) = 3.12 Million.
Multiplied by 6 (Hiluxes) = 18.72 Million Naira (Fuel for Police Vehicle)

36 Million Naira for 6 Tokunbo Hiluxes.

100,000 Naira (thrice a month)
In one year 400,000 Naira.
In 4 Years 1.6 million Naira.
Multiplied by 6 (Hiluxes) = 9.6 Million Naira.

TOTAL: 36 Million + 18.72 Million + 9.6 Million = 64.32 Million Naira.

Do you know how much INEC budgeted for Security alone out of that 242 Billion Naira? About 140 Billion Naira.

Okay, let's do some mathematics. Assuming just 800 house of Assembly members decide to appropriate that 64.32 Million Naira on security for FOUR YEARS. How much will it amount to?

64.32 Million x 800.
That's around 514 Billion if I'm not mistaken.

INEC uses 140 Billion Naira on security during election - 6 months.

Our constituency cannot get 64 Million in 4 years?

Let's not forget that this is simply a constituency budget on Police Vehicle Purchase and Maintenance.

This is the assistance the Akure North Candidate for the House of Assembly, Ondo State, Mr. Ayobami Ogedengbe wants to push for the Police Force at some strategic area commands in the constituency to start with.

What do you think?
